Here is my personal horror project Silent Day inspired by several games like SilentHill - Resident Evil - Alan Wake and Twin Peaks vibes
Gas Station and street elements modeled with 3dsmax and Substance Painter, Interior created with Quixel Megascans assets and some of them I modeled. Physical based lighting and volumetric fog. Ingame is running at 30 to 40fps on RTX3090 with DlSS on, full Raytraced realtime.
What makes a great horror game in my opinion does not have to be always a dark night mood but even in daytime it could be disturbing, the suspense and fear of emptiness around makes you feel uncomfortable. The music is important as the visuals it helps to contribute the overall of the horror experience. I miss the games that gave me these vibes like the intense fog of Silent Hill or The First Resident Evil
